Remember the days.
I wrote a poem that I would like to share with you. I hope you receive it with love and to remind us of the humanity of our lives.
I call it, Remember the days. Stick with it because I think its worth it and finishes on a positive note, I promise.
Remember the days when fair was fair and we demanded action? Remember those days?
The days when Aussies didn’t put up with bullshit and never left a mate behind. Remember those days?
The days when your government listened to the common man because they knew people needed those things. Remember those days?
When you could do fun/stupid things if you wanted, as long as it wasn’t hurting anyone else. Remember those days?
When you could go to police and trust that they’d get you justice and protect you from harm. Remember those days?
The days when kids went out all day and got back by the time the street lights were on. Remember those days?
The days when you could have reasonable and sometimes difficult conversations with people. Remember those days?
Remember those days you could rely on the news. Remember those days?
Remember the days, remember today, remember your mate, remember we are human.
Remember the child, both in age and within.
Remember the joys, remember the sorrows.
Remember your power, remember your strength.
Remember the days, the days to come.
Remember this day, and remember me.
With great challenges we gain more wisdom, we gain more empathy and understanding, and as each day passes may we all grow wise together. Because ultimately we are all in this together.
Authors notes:
I hope the message comes across and is well received. Know that it is with intention of empowerment and love. It’s not easy for me to use these words, and it’s not something that I do, or have done let’s say. The "me", in the last line is a collective we, not as in literally me.
Please share your thoughts and tell me what you think. Is it resonating with you, did it help you?
In case you’re wondering there was zero AI used to put this together. Just sharing a moment of inspiration as they happen.
